About Waerebo
Well known as a village above the sky, this remote community has been preserving its culture for over a hundred periods of time.
Located more than 1200 meters above sea level, Waerebo offers a great hike inside dense forest, birds chants all the way, and the smile of the local which is incomparable.
Seven main houses called Mbaru Niang are structured by local architecture and will amaze you. Waerebo is a boundless home, a local genius museum, and a city life escape.
This village was considered a world heritage site in 2012. Besides the seven Mbaru Niang, the local tribe that well kept the culture are an important part of the treasure.
You will meet and interact with them closely without boundary. With the ritual led by the elder, you will be welcomed by all the ancestors in the warm womb of Waerebo.
