The village of Wae Rebo features seven main traditional houses, known as Mbaru Niang, which are a remarkable example of local Manggarai architecture.

This village was considered a World Heritage site in 2012. Besides the seven Mbaru Niang, the local tribe who has well-kept the culture is an important part of the treasure.
