Never Get Lost On The Island of Ora

Komodo National Park known as a ‘home’ of Ora –Varanus Komodoensis –the only place of the last dragon on earth.

Ora live entirely in Komodo Island including Rinca Island, Padar Island, Nusa Kode and Gili Motang. This endemic predator is a carnivore.

They occupy the high part of the ecosistem, almost undefeated. All tour itineraries will put Komodo as the main treasure to attract people to come.

Padar Island

Padar island with three different coloured bays is another treasure in the park. This island also the third biggest island in the area. Hike to its top need more preparation.

You have to be healthy enough to step on 800 stairs. Be aware on the steep part of the hill which mostly on the right side.

The best time to hike is in the morning start from 5:30 am until 7:30 am. The gate will close at 10:00 am and open again at 15:00 pm.

Taka Makasar

Imagine a sand bar in the middle of the ocean. That is Taka Makasar. Appear with form of small moon in the middle of Komodo National Park, this small ‘taka’ is the best stop over after a hour sail from Komodo Island.

Surrounded by super crystal clear sea is prefect time to chill. Enjoy the view from the middle of nowhere.

Kanawa Island

Kanawa is perfect place if you want to spend time for snorkeling. Swimming around the wooden jetty is always a good start to watch the fish.

Besides jumping through the jetty, you can explore the beach area. If you need cold drinks, just walk to the bar. They provide Bintang and coconat for you.

The best time to visit Kanawa is during sunset time. But, whenever your boat anchored at this island, that is your best time to come around.
